Laptops :: bug with usb key

Hello, first don't worry if my english is special!

I explain my problem :
I had a problem with a laptop (acer extensa P2 233Mhz RAM:32Mo) that run with MS win95 for usb key. I try dsl (live-cd) and it work with the cheat code fb800*600 until here all is good.
My problem is when i plug a usb key  : i cant mount it so i can't work with and after some minutes the laptops is completely crashed, i can't even reboot or shutdown. I'm oblige to shutdown "manually".
