Laptops :: Running modprobe command on startup
Greetings!
I have an old Dell laptop with the dreaded cs4237B sound card. By searching forums, I was able to find a "modprobe" command to make it work. I'm wondering if there is any way to run the command at startup so I don't have to look up all the entire command every time? I also have gkrellm system monitor running. it looks for the mixer on startup and it doesn't find it until I run modprobe command.
Thanks for any help!
See /opt/bootlocal.sh
DSL also has support for a modules directory that works similar to the mydsl directory and upon boot up will insmod each module residing there.
Added mobprobe command to bootlocal.sh. Worked like a charm! Thanks for your help.
I spoke too soon. After I added the modprobe command to the bootlocal.sh, I rebooted and it worked. When I rebotted the next time it did not work. Upon looking at the bootlocal.sh file I saw that the modprobe command was no longer there. Any way to make it stay?
