I still have an audio problem with my toshiba portege 3015ct. I ran that command, and I got audio ... if you hold the speaker right up to your ear. The speaker is at full volume. I hear 3.2RC3 has volume control, should I try that or is there aqn easier way (I'm on 3.2RC2)?

Hi, a newbie question, but how is DSL running in general on the 3015CT?

I am playing with a Portege 3010CT that my brother-in-law got for $20 and love the little thing.  However, it has XP on it and pages constantly.  What should take seconds, takes up to 10 minutes on it!  The specs for it are similar to the 3015CT.

We want a Linux based replacement for Win 9X on it, but running modern web and email apps, as well as a wordpad like editor, and perhaps an IM client.  It has a 802.11b card in it, and the vendor does have Linux drivers for that.

Please direct me to the proper forum, perhaps user feedback, if this is not the right place to post this.

That said, the idea of a modern os / system running comfortably on a 266 Mhz Pentium, with 64MB Ram and 4.3 Gigs of drive with 800x600 VGA graphics is very, very appealing!  I had an Atari ST in the 80s and it was responsive enough for what you did with it then.  It only had 1MB Ram and an 8Mhz cpu.  I would have loved the PC card slots and the USB port on it... :D
