Laptops :: Toshiba Laptop Boot Trouble

Ok, I have a Toshiba Satellite 1555CDS and I'm trying to install DSL on it. I got the current iso file, burnt it to a CD, and booted it up.

But once it got to the line:
Running Linux kernel 2 blah blah,
Processor 0 345MHz AMD or something.

then it just stops. like it just stops. even the noise from the laptop just stops. what am I Doing wrong??

The boot thingy loads up and stuff, but it just stops half-way through...
Press f2 and/or f3 to try boot codes for you machine.
Might be you need noacpi boot option.

Then again, you may need to use the syslinux version of the cdrom.

so uh, what's the "syslinux" version?

and what does the "noacpi" option do?

I used nopcmcia and I got it installed. The only problem is, now I don't know how to get the laptop to read the network card!

I also have a wirless conncetor thingy that uses a USB port. It's a little wireless reciever that connects vai USB, but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize it.
