Laptops :: DSL on Toshiba Satellite M115-S3094

I have succesfully run DSL booting from CD on my Toshiba Satellite M115-S3094. It boots up, loads X server and everything works, but at an incredibly SLOW speed: even the cursor blinking during the boot sequence takes like 5 or 10 seconds. It takes like 20 minutes to boot. Has anyone seen something similar? Does anyone know how to avoid this?

wow, that's long... (at least 5 times longer than my old pentium)

Is there a specific place where it's taking a long time during boot? Did you try isolating the problem using any boot/cheatcodes (see wiki for more info)?
