Laptops :: Sony Picturebook  C1VPK screen support?

I have a Sony Picturebook C1VPK that I've installed DSL on.  It runs plenty fast enough, but I can't get it to display the full-resolution 1024x480 display.  With the default install, it uses the central 640x480 of the screen.  I tried installing the full X, and editing modelines, but the best I've been able to do was to get it to stretch the 640x480 wider to fill the screen, not actually take advantage of the full resolution.

Xubuntu can fill the screen at full resolution, so I know it's POSSIBLE to do, but with that distro it runs too slowly:  the machine only has 128 MB of RAM, and it churns the VM terribly.

Can anyone help?

I have one. I as using XFree86.unc with Xfree v4.5.0. Works great with DSL either v3.x or 4.x, 1024x480. Need to use a unc version as the Transmeta processor uses some ram so 128MB becomes 112. Also setup a swap partiton. I am using frugal-grub install. I will post later as I don't have access to it at the moment.
Here is my XF86Config-4 used with my picturebook. Mine has a japanese keyboard so you may need to adjust if yours is US keyboard. Also, if you find that this does not work with the XFree86.unc in the repository, then I will post the XFree86.unc that I am using.
