Laptops :: No sound on persario laptop

Did hd install on to old comp persario laptop DSL runs real good on it but no sound, it has ESS 1887 built in sound card wich DSL cant find module for I tried the ESS 1868 module and ESS maesstro , ESS solo 1 none of them worked on it any advise or help would be appreciated. even a good point to a good link

ESS 1887 sond card

try searching the forums for keyword "ESS" or "ESS*" and search ALL FORUMS and FROM THE BEGINNING or NEWER.
