Laptops :: wlanctl-ng and iwconfig issues

Hi,

Just starting with DSL and I'm having some wireless issues with my PCMCIA card.  I read an older post on configuring a Linksys WPC11 v3 card and tried the below:

wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable

never made it past this point as I got a "wlanctl-ng: No such device" error.  I also tried:

iwconfig wlan0 essid "massradius" > Massradius is my essid

and got "Error for wireless request "set ESSID (8B1A) : Set failed on device wlan0 : No such device"

any ideas?

I just ordered a Prisim Orinico Silver card...hopefully this will work.  Any idea what the below errors are telling me?
Did you setup the wireless portion using the DSL Panel...you must supply the correct SSID, encryption key and channel for it to work properly....I believe it should take effect immediately...if it doesnt then try to turn off the drivers and re-enable

I did an got "No Wireless Network Card found".  I get the same msg for the Linksys wpc11 v3 and now I'm getting it with the Prisim Orinico Silver card (both 80211b).  Both work fine in windows and DSL detects both on startup (it says loading card mgr etc.) so I'm not sure why it suddenly can't see it when I'm logged in....any ideas?
I'm using a Orinoco Gold card with my laptop, and I don't have to configure anything, it just works. I also use a Linksys wpc-11 v3 card, also without configuration, it just works. I am running DSL .9.2 from the hard drive, but I don't think that should matter.
