Laptops :: Which dsl distro for my laptop
I have an IBM 360CE laptop with about 8MB of RAM and the newest version of dsl freezes when booting and I was wondering if I was to use an older version of dsl (ex. 0.4.10) would it run and not freeze, if you could recommend a version that would be great (if it helps at all for choosing one I just want to use it for web surfing)
Thanks Alot, T4games
You cannot run DSL and X windows with only 8 MB. You could try to boot into command line by writing "dsl 2" (without quotes) at the initial "boot:" prompt. If you want X, you could try http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/baslinux/.
I have tried dsl 2, but it still freezes, I was wondering about older versions since they run on different kernals. But anyway I'll try that baselinux.
