Laptops :: video

I have a dell Inspiron 1100..........

Everytime i try to set it to FB i keep getting no FB mod found error on boot.

is this normal, please remember i am mr stupid head so I probaly missed something,

when it boots the cd, press F2 when you see the initial DSL screen & penguin then type: dsl fb1024x768 (or whatever you need) toram dma ... etc then hit ENTER. THat should work...if it doesn't try another setting that isn't using the framebuffer mode perhaps.
