Laptops :: booting with external non-bootable CDROM

Hi All,

I just found DSL a couple days ago and I am really impressed with how clean and quick it is. I would like to try it on my IBM Thinkpad 240X laptop but it does not have a bootable CDROM. It only has an external USB CDROM. I was able to get Knoppix going on it using the Knoppix boot floppies, but when I tried the DSL boot floppy it did not find the USB CDROM. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Russ
