Laptops :: help with internet!!

I have an older laptop, and after about an hour i ofund out the correct configuration to the monitor, and it works awesome but i cant use the internet... I have a d-link wireless card thing that sticks in the side, and during the boot procedure it recognises it but when i try and configure wireless network cards it says none found.

any help would be awesome!

more information required. tried 'dmesg'? 'dmesg|more' (thats a pipe)

ifconfig -a

iwconfig wlan0

give us some info.

WHAT does it recognize during the boot procedure?

Er...double post cause the website was being crazy...or something.

on boot it says " card manager started bla blah... hotplug device found slot 1 ( thats where it is ) so it recognises it.... uhh.. its a d-link air plus wireless card. and ill try that other thing

You didnt by any chance buy the airlink G model: 3025 or something like that? I have one also but it doesnt seem to work (or maybe i just cant make it work).
