Laptops :: How do i install pcmcia NIC ?

Hi,

i have an old Laptop (P166) and a DSL-hd installation wich works fine with our two users (   ,   ) but it should be connected to the internet using our router (has dhcp) the only thing is that my xircom pcmcia card is not configured during startup. Loading the xircom-modules does not end in success. The NIC works on other computers and i've had installed it sucessfully on another linux machine long ago... ( i think it was auto-detected on knoppix once, but i have no lap with enough ram to start full knoppix again just to see .. )

is there anything i need to know about DSL and pcmcia ?

pcmcia_core is loaded (usb-hotplug too, but there is no usbport ...  )

thank you for your help (in advance .. and for DSL -> it's great !!!) , i would not want to use anything else than dsl, 'cause it has exactly what we need and runs quite fine and fast on that old machine ;)

anyway, i did  not manage to install my NIC, but now i use a nullmodem cable. 'will upgrade  to a parallel port laplink soon
