Laptops :: Fastest dsl-version?

Why does this require a DOS partition?
It doesn't.

It just requires a partition that can be both read and written to by linux

In other words FAT (MSDOS, Win95)  or FAT32 (Win95OSR2, WIN98, WIN98SE, WINME) will work fine.

NTFS (Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Win Server 2003) will not work.
