Laptops :: i8kutilities, dsl, and Dell Inspiron 4000

Okay, I have yet to find out how to compile a source and turn it into a mydsl. Apt-get- got apps are simple. So, how can I do this?

And, I have tried to compile the i8kutilities, but i get errors when i run "make module", yet insmod i8k works without needing to be forced. And when i try running the i8kmon program, it replies with error: line 23 tshsch (or maybe it was tchsch) missing or something like that. Has anyone else got this error? Do I need to get that tch thing? if so, where? the debian apt-get repository? (I cannot get online with the laptop, so I need to be able to get it where i can save to a flash drive)
