Laptops :: PCMCIA problem on Compaq Presario 1080

FYI, I have tried Puppy and Feather too with the same results. LNX-BBS did cause my Orinoco NIC to flash, indicating that the PCMCIA portion worked, but the framebuffer did not. I have to have the GUI too. arrrrrg!

i had this problem with my persario 1020 or 1080, i remember trying all the small install linux dists at the time,

can i hope a soulution in the future? or am i going to have to load the operating system that shall not be named
