Laptops :: DSL on a Toshiba Satellite 1800-712

When I am booting DSL from a CD it freaks and hangs on the hard drive detection. When running the live cd what boot option can I use to bypass hard drive install?
Try booting with:

dsl nofstab

either you should change bios config (restart, press esc until mess "press f1...") from standard eide to pio mode or you should start with dsl dma. Then it should work.
hang on "scanning for harddisk partitions an creating /etc/fstab..."

I have the same problem with my laptop, a toshiba satelitte 1800-614. If I boot with "fb1024x768 dsl dma"  it works, but I can't mount my hard drive. When I try it, I receive the next message: "unable to mount this device at this time...".

What can I do? I want to install dsl on hard drive.

the hard drive is toshiba mk2018gap
