Laptops :: Woohoo!

This armada 1750 is working out pretty well. The hdd was toast, so now booting from a usb stick (via floppy). Sound works just fine, set it in bootlocal.sh to set it up at boot. Got the modem working just now, in fact posting from the laptop Groovy. Now I just need to get next to a 802.11* network and see if the wireless card actually works.

Thanks to all who posted (over the last year) their experiences in getting laptops to work, these forums were a great help. This was of great help too, for anyone else who wants to put linux on an older compaq.
