Laptops :: Problems With X on Thinkpad 365XD
Having similar problems with IBM 600 Thinkpad. This system has a 1024x768 display, but I am having the same issue. Will let you know if I figure anything out.
from my live cd, at the boot prompt, I type fb1024x768. It boots into DSL X Setup, where I choose Xfbdev (which is not the default), then select mouse and keyboard settings. This looks good to me. Now I will have to install to hard drive and see if it will still work.
ok, I installed using install fb1024x768, but still had a problem with the colors. To fix it, I needed to reconfigure X, which I did by first exiting X (which was useless anyway) by using the ctrl+alt+backspace command.
Then type:
#xsetup.sh
select Xfbdev xserver
finish by configuring mouse, etc
reboot and select proper boot when grup comes up (for me it was 1024x768)
Let me know if this worked
