Apt-get :: Apt-Get



Reading Package Lists... Error!
E: Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2 No such file or directory)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.


Help! I think i broke apt-get!!!!
Did you have it working before?

If not, search the forum for info on how to fix it.

If so, did you alter sources.list?
I've tried everything... Still have th above error
I tried deleting the package list manually,
ran update again, it downloads it, and gives me
the god damn error again!  :( :( :(
Asmodeus, did you run dpkg-restore as root?  

If you have and the problem is from something else, download the dpkg.tar.gz file from this website, gunzip & untar the directory and copy over  dpkg/status to /var/lib/dpkg/status.
