Is it just me, or does version 6.1 not have apt-get? I remember using 4.5 and 4.7 quite some time ago, and they both had apt-get. I even tried an old copy of 4.10 I had laying around, but, alas, apt-get was nowhere to be found! I did the dpkg-restore thing, and I got that, but it gave the following errors:
Quote
/usr/sbin/dpkg-restore: line 6: dpkg-install.sh: command not found Updating apt-get /usr/sbin/dpkg-restore: line 8: apt-get: command not found
I can't download/burn a new version right now... so, can anyone help? This is really weird...Nevermind, I found the dpkg-install.sh script in my home directory, ran that, and all's good. Thanks anyway.I just installed 7.1 on my computer, and I can't seem to figure out how to get apt-get to work. I couldn't find dpkg-install.sh, so I tried following the directions on the website for installing apt-get.
I downloaded dpkg.tar.gz and untared it in /var/lib. However, I can't run apt-get update to finish it, because it says that apt-get is not found. Any suggestions?Download the dsl-dpkg.dsl from the repository http://www.ibiblio.org/pub....ex.html Put it in any partition that DSL can read. ( fat32, ext2, iso9660, etc ) open emelfm find your dsl-dpkg.dsl file, and highlight it click on the mydsl button, and it should install or open a shell type 'mydsl-load' enter full path to location of dsl-dpkg.dsl it should install

Maybe it is too easy and you missed it:
From the main system menu Apps->Tools->Enable AptNext Page...
original here.
