Apt-get :: Depends are no longer available
I have a few old .deb files I thought I would try to change over to .dsl files. I think I am doing things right with apt-get, but there is a certian dependency "xlib6g" which is not available anymore. I cant install the package without it (unless you know of a way), and I cant get the dependency. Am I just out of luck?
You mean, something like this:
http://debian.ethz.ch/debian-....386.deb
It is important to know the revision number that is required by your application so that you get download the proper version of xlib6g.
and the kernel modules for my winmodem are not avaliable either, that is evil.
You should be able to find old outdated Debian packages that refer to older kernel versions by searching the internet with google. You may need to download these files manually via ftp or http (Ie the *.deb files) because there may no longer be an older Debian repository address that can be added to your sources.list file.
