Hola,

I would mention in advance, that I'm completely new to the linux world... but I dare to say that I'm learning fast :P

I have a pc with an old integrated i810, and DSL currently only runs 640x480 in 24 bit (and 800x600 16bit) So to get this bit' higher, I searched and found XFree, looking to be a good solution... (is it?) But when downloading, I found several gnulibc versions... wich is good for DSL?

Please read Vga=xxx - DSL Wiki.

Ah, the good old i810 video......

I also have this wonderful chip on my Dell laptop.

The only way I know to get it past the 800x600 16bit video is to use the xfree extension and to also create a xf86config file for the i810. I actually suggest you use the xfree.dsl and the xfree config dsl package that mikshaw has created. It will allow you to create the file you need. A little work and you can get it. I've gotten my i810 to work with 1024x768 24bit
