these were brand new imitation disks purchased today....
antone else experinced problems...

No problem with disk space but I did have to rename boot-0.8.0.img shorter before rawrite could see it.

Looking at the FAQ  http://damnsmalllinux.org/faq.html#floppy
and using that procedure from within DSL is no problem.

dd if=boot-0.8.0.img of=/dev/fd0

sorry, never had to do boot floppy always booted from old copy of cd, but thanks..........time for new cd me thinks......
that will teach me , I was starting to think i knew what is was doing!!!!!!!
