greetings all! im having a bit of trouble getting DSL up and running.

currently using Mandrake 9.1, with no problems to date - AMD K6 533mhz with 312mb ram and 18gb HD. its a very sad, rather old compaq machine that likes mandrake a lot more than it liked windows, so im thinking it will like DSL even more!

i dont know if its just me, but i make it thru the whole setup and it appears to load up the display at 800x600 no matter what i select. most windows i try to open up load much to big for my display, including what appears to be a text file that opens on the initial start. i cant close any of them, as i can reach any sort of tool bar...

so, smack me if you must, as i am a total n00b, but what am i doing wrong?

also, if anyone here knows mandrake and would care to explain to me how to create a partition so that i can try installing DSL, itd be appreciated.

thanks in advance for the assistance!

This is only a temporary solution, but it since the Window Manager for DSL is Fluxbox, you can press and hold "alt + leftclick" and drag windows around so that toolbars are visible. Hope this helps a little...
