In version 0.7.2 whenever i start Ted and try to Open w text file (for instance filetool.lst) it throws me out of Ted with 'Segmentation fault' message.

Ted is a RTF word processor. I don't see where it supports other than rich text format. See their site for the REAME ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/README
Also notice that both open and save as do not have a file type list.
