Posting about something which no-one else has had a problem with, usually means I've done something silly. Here goes, anyway. I dl'd the "current" file from Ibiblio and renamed it as an iso, 'cos I can't dl iso's at work. Sodding I.T dept. Home means dial-up. MD5summed it, all was well. Burnt iso with cdrecord, copied /KNOPPIX/knoppix to frugal install. Also got newest dsl-dpkg.dsl and gnu-utils.dsl. All very good.
But on loading some .dsl packages (like scite, gimp 1-2, xchat), using Emelfm and myDSL button, the myDSL submenu is not updated with the new package name. I know some packages don't have a menu entry anyway.
These entries are in /ramdisk/var/tmp/mydsl.menu/- but they don't make it to ~/.fluxbox/menu. I don't understand the mechanism of the menu update very well..... In a couple of days, I'll download the syslinux version proper, I want a copy of it anyway, and see if it's different.
Wonder if anyone else has seen this- or can shed a little light on how it should work.
