OK, I had an issue with the superblock being corrupt. I backed up everything, and did the old fdisk and reinstall of the new DSL..
Out of the box.. Firefox bit in a major way.. It kept blowing up on me.. until I read int he forums the posts on how to adjust the configuration.. Great stuff.. that is fixed and works.
My general impressions upgrading from 7.0 to this new version. the system I have is slower with this version, it seems to hang or page alot. I love the MyDSL application installer.. that is great stuff.. I have mixed feelings about the Control panel. For instance. I like the little GUI for the dialer. but would prefer the wvdial . I realize this is a case of " you cant please everyone"..
Basically my biggest complaint is that the system is slower, and I am not sure exactly why it is.. I have a Thinkpad 770, with 96M of Ram.
Did anyone else have this experience ?
