I am pretty new to Linux, and I thought DSL would be a good place to start seriously learning it, because I can run it off my pen drive without having to install a boot loader.  However, when I created a CD of isolinux, it didn't detect my graphics correctly and my colors came out wonky.  I couldn't figure out how to configure my color scheme.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 1100 (the last Dell I am ever going to buy because proprietary hardware SUCKS for running linux).

I had this same problem with my DSL. All other of my Linux LiveCDs work perfectly and this is the only one that has the problem. It was easier to read on my PC but on my laptop it was totally green and I could hardly see enough to get to reboot. Both were screwed up though, and I'd like to get these working because I'd like to use DSL sometimes.
