Hi!

I'm new to DSL, and so far I like it very much. My problem is like that:
I've installed DSL as USB-HDD on my 128MB pendrive. I boot it via bootfloppy-usb on two very old computers: one is C400MHz with Martrox G400 graphic card, other is C333MHz with Riva TNT2 M64. On both computers i can't force it to use refresh rate higher than 60Hz, so i started to search this forum, and found out, that i have to install XFree86.dsl. When i try to install it with myDSL on my desktop, and after downloadning by Emelfm it stops and displays:

"Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged"

What am I doing wrong? Is there other way to force DSL to display in 1024x768 32M@100Hz ??

You're not doing anything wrong, yet =o)

That's a warning, not an error.  Warnings in Linux are generally harmless messages letting you know that something isn't behaving exactly as planned, but it's usually nothing to be too concerned about.  I think warning messages are mostly made for those people who are not complete unless they have something to worry about ("Oh dear...my kernel is tainted")

Locale relates to language support.
Just make sure you follow the directions in the XFree86.dsl.info file and you should be fine.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your reply. I boot dsl with no lang=xx option, and warnig message disappears :-)

I followed info, and after switching to MC (emelfm doesn't show all the files) installed almost successfully XFree86. I still have to find appropriate XF86Config-4 for Matrox G400.
