The desktop icons begin to load but then disappear.

What program loads this because it seems to either be crashing or Flux and icewm are going over top it.

The *.dsl version of IceWM is broken, and it breaks the icons as soon as you install it unless you happen to be running an old version of DSL.  One or more of the *.lnk files in /home/dsl/.xtdesktop is pointing to a non-existent image file.  I can't remember which one it is, unfortunately, so you'll need to check each *.lnk file to see which one has a missing image file listed in it.  Or you could delete them all and replace them with the ones in /etc/skel/.xtdesktop

There are *.uci versions of icewm available that don't touch any existing files.  The one in testing works with the latest incarnation of the myDSL menu.

I have the same problem with the icons... I was play arround with aMSN that I installed with MyDSL and browsed throw the desktop menu and all the sudden all the icons disappeared. I'm using DSL 3.0 RC2 I don't think that I installed any software that could've borked them. I tried removing all the files in /home/dsl/.xtdesktop and replacing them with the files in /etc/skel/.xtdesktop but it didn't do any good. Also I get the following error while trying to run xtdesk:
Quote
dsl@box:~$ xtdesk
Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
Warning: X locale modifiers not supported, using default
Unable create FontSet fot FontName: "-*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1"

When trying to run dillo I get:
Quote
dsl@box~$
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C

Gdk-WARNING **: can not set locale modifiers

** WARNING **: Trouble loading fonts!?! :(

** ERROR **: Could not find any font.
aborting...
Aborted

Borked fonts? Dunno, I haven't used much linux. I just installed DSL yesterday to my old laptop.
