I just put dsl on my old sony vaio laptop.  As it boots, it correctly enters 1024x768 framebuffer mode, and looks fine.  However, as soon as x boots the colors become very pastel, and it is very hard to see anything.  If I exit x, they stay that way and I have to reboot in order to get good colors back.  I'm guessing it has something to do with the xvesa driver, because it says its loading that right before the screen changes.  Thanks for any help.

Try pressing f2 at start and enter the cheat code > dsl xsetup
From a running system ctrl+alt+backspace > xsetup.sh
