Why are there 2 Xvesa binaries in DSL?  One is at /usr/X11R6/bin/Xvesa and the other is /usr/bin/X11/Xvesa.  Are both required? .xserverrc points to /usr/bin/X11/Xvesa.

/usr/bin/X11 is probably a symlink to /usr/X11R6/bin

Not a symlink but a hard link.
Think of it as two different doors to the same place.
Doing an ls -i will show that they point to the same i-node.

thanks, that makes sense.  I didn't see why we needed two, but there really is only one with the second being a link to the first.
