Well I am at the end of my rope here. I have downloaded all the current versions of DSL including the rcs. I love it. Unfortuneaty it only seems to work for about 10 mintues then it locks up. It seems to lock up after I turn on the ndiswrapper except running 2.1b with noapci noapm crashes without running ndiswrapper.
I have read the other forums here, and yes I turned off the apm, apic, booted it to ram etc.
I have a compaq 2321, amd turion, 2gig ram, dvdrw etc.
What is driving me crazy is the fact knoppix, phantomix, ubuntu work perfectly minus the need to specify the framebuffer. I like all these other distros the only issue is I want something small enough to go and install into a pendrive. Bascially a firefox with gaim, tor and privoxy and a couple other document viewer.
So why does dsl based on those other distros not work? Whats different. I think I read that earlier distros didn't have this issue so I am going to try to find 1.5 or 1.0 see what happens.
Until then anyone have a clue?
