There are several ways. First, if you are using wget, pay attention to the path  you send them to when you download, then use a file manager, like EmelFM to go to that path and they should be right there. Second, if you are not downloading with wget, then the download manager in the browser, for example, will tell you where they went. Use a file manager to go to that location and they should be there. Third, you can open a terminal and use one of several types of search commands, depending on the type of file, the path, the contents of the file.
