hi.

i have an older computer with nothing on the hard drive and when i go to start the computer up it asks for a boot cd or floppy. Ive been trying varius versions of linux and none seem to work. My computer specs are:
Pentium Pro processor running at 200mhz
32mb of ram
1gb hard disk(nothing on it)

so on this computer i downloaded dsl and i burnt it onto a disk. I put it in my other computer and it wont reconize the boot disk. I set the BIOS to look for the CD-ROM first. Other linux distros have been booted properly but this one isnt reconized.

Are you suposed unzip the dsl file you download and then burn it or is it a hardware problem?

If you want to make a bootable DSL, there should be nothing to unzip.  Download the iso file, burn it as a CD image, and then try booting it.  The zip file is for DSL embedded...for running it inside an existing windows or linux system
