Since DSL is based on Knoppix, I'm making the assumption that there is a means of setting up a persistant memory for settings, configurations and the like in DSL 2.3 like in Knoppix. Looking at the menus I haven't seen the equivalent of the make image script and I suspect its hiding in plain sight. Anyone care to help out a newbie in finding it?

Thanks,

Alice

mydsl panel Backup/Restore button. Creates a file called backup.tar.gz in the root folder. This info is also in the "Getting Started" guide that pops up when you first boot DSL.

Thanks,
I was looking for something that works like the knoppix script and if this will do what I need it to, great. Now if I can find out how/where to install in Nvidia drivers I'll be able to get on the net and have a config worth saving.

There are scripts for each function in DSL. When you use a function - wireless for example - a new script is written for the configuration of that and placed in /opt. You can make it persitant by writing the path to that script in the filetool.lst or if you need to run it as root, place the path in opt/bootlocal.sh

<edit> I should also add that DSL-2.3 has automated some of these tasks.
