I am using a toshiba tecra 8100 PIII 700mHz with a 10g HD I have win2k pro installed and am using the live cd ver2.3 that came with the book I bought from spidertools.com "DamnSmallLinux Linux Operating System in Less than 50 MB" I am just learning to use linux. I had the same problem in 2.2 downloaded from the net. If you don't click a key after (I think) 10min or less the screen goes blank. I have looked here on this site and else where and I tried all of the tips i could find. Nothing seems to work. DSL is extremeley difficult to use when i must read everything on the screen and sometimes more than a couple times.
Is there a simple answer to this screen blanking issue?
Thank you in advance,
rukarma2

Thanks safesys but, alas it failed. I tried it in many different location with in that /home/dsl/.xinitrc but none worked I made sure I put the & send at the end and saved it and it was less than five minutes and the screen was blank. It is only annoying cause I have been using MS for too long, again thank you.

sounds like it's power management moreso than the screensaver kicking in - so perhaps using the cheatcode at bootup of:

dsl noapm

and checking your bios settings to see if theres anything lurking in there will help.
