I'm building a project where I'd like to set up a Mini-ITX system with an application that I wrote that's essentially like a firewall. I'd like to have things running on a CF card, and configure everything on the machine. When it all works properly, I'll power things down and pull off the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The only things left connected to this system will be power and an ethernet connection. When I power things up, I'd like my program to be running along with sometihng simple like telnet so that I can get into the box if necessary. I'd also like to put all of the normal I/O devices back on and run as a normal computer sometimes.
Is this possible to do with DSL? Is it possible to run DSL without the normal input and output devices? I know that when I normally boot, I get a boot: menu that clearly wouldn't get any further without a keyboard or a way to see the message.
Any ideas on how to do this?
