Hi fellow DSL'ians...
I use DSL to DJ at functions and weddings etc. In order to sound more professional I want to use the / XMMS crossfader \__ plugin. I compiled this for SuSE 10.0 without trouble, but I like DSL much better because of its speed in realtime situations where fractions of a second of reaction time counts.
1.) I tried to compile xmms-crossfade-0.3.11 in DSL but do not have so much experience in setting up the compile environment. I'm still using DSL 2.something (not quite sure how to check) Its running kernel 2.4.26 if it makes things clearer maybe. When I do a ./configure it stops with an error on a needed xmms-config:

NOTE: If you installed XMMS as a RPM and still get this error,
'xmms-config' might be included in a sperate development RPM
instead of the base XMMS package. This depends on the distribution
you are using. Look for a RPM called 'libxmms-devel' or 'xmms-devel'.

But this is probably not the only error I'll run into.
I need help from someone with experience in compiling mydsl.dsl packages.
Otherwise if someone would be willing to make a .dsl or .uci of the crossfader plugin I would greatly appreciate it. I have also considered using DBmix for XMMS and maybe this could be a future project for me.
2.) When I boot the machine it comes up with volumes of 67% set as default. I would like it to be 85% by default when I boot the notebook. Can someone tell me where to adjust the volumes. I tried wmix's config file, but the settings there only handles the program settings and not the /dev/dsp device defaults. I'm sure it should be easy but I feel pretty stupid by now.
3.) Another nice thing would be if I could quickly search the playlist of XMMS. I found 'XMMS find' and 'XMMS Gtk Playlist' plugins for XMMS but since I'm so incompetent at compiling stuff I can only dream about a perfect world.
