I've been trying to use the Knoppix 3.4 CD to build some modules for DSL from a patch to the standard asla-drivers package - if I try in DSL, I get various aclocal errors.
Using the Knoppix CD everything goes fine until "sudo make install" when things stop with an error about not being able to write to /lib/modules/2.4.26/wherever.
With Knoppix run "toram" is there a way to make the modules directories writeable?
[I know I could copy the *.o files from /alsa-drivers/... but I would also like the modules configuration files to be written so that modprobe will work afterwards]
