the restore one u could use dsl norestore.
but for backup one can it be disable before the next reboot ?
(other than hit the reset button)

DSL 4 has an option upon shutdown/reboot.

open up the backup/restore tool and clear out the listed device, or remove the device listed in (or delete) /opt/.backup_device

Do the solutions offered in the above posts turnoff the automatic backup that occurs on shutdown or restart forever? In other words, disables the auto backup feature until a manual backup is requested again.
