The correct time as I write this is Friday, 11:19 AM EST, but Fluxbox displays the time as Friday 4:19 PM UTC, and apt-get keeps returning errors because it says the time is really Saturday 12:19 PM UTC. What's wrong?

Try changing the time in the BIOS. DSL, and therefore Fluxbox, should load the time from system time when it boots.
