Do you have scsi modules loaded or do you boot with a noscsci cheatcode?

Thanks gents for speedy response.
Am using Lilo Frugal with toram and restore=hda3 only, with generic 4.3.
Do I need to load scsi.tgz?
Edit:
How do I determine which driver to load from scsi.tgz lib?
System Stats:
hdd:rw241040 ATAPI cd/dvd-rom drive.
Modules ide scsi 9040 0.

You don't need scsi modules to use an ide cdrom burner.

What is your device?

Have you done a cdrecord -scanbus ?
This should display your device.

The new cdtools are suppose to support writing to a DVD burner. YMMV.
There is also a mydsl extension (tkdvd.dsl) that supports burning to a DVD burner which I have used before the new cdtools were upgraded
