yes. (easy)
one way is: load a small *.dsl extension.
another way: add write to the bootparameters ( ie dsl write )
or call:  /etc/init.d/mkwriteable in your /opt/bootlocal.sh
to keep the drivers, add there names to filetool.lst

yes ( not so easy)
remaster the KNOPPIX file
