I want to run parted on my hd so I can give dsl its own partition. On the packages page here, I see that parted is listed as an installed package in DSL, but trying to run parted (as root) says it can't find the command.

Should I be able to find it?

Is it hiding in a location not on the path?

Is it just plain not really included in DSL?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

The website is currently being updated to reflect all the changes that have occured during the development of DSL.
parted has not been included in base DSL for some time now.

I'll look at qtparted.dsl, but I doubt I will be able to use it. Can it resize a partition that it is running from? My laptop doesn't have enough memory to load dsl's without first mounting a hard drive and pointing mkwriteable to that.

Thanks,
David

You should never work on a mounted partition, regardless of what software is being used.

My suggestion is to do it with a different system which will use less ram, such as one of the floppy based systems like tomsrtbt
