Make sure you havethe latest version of gnu-utils. It has recently had the mkfontdir executable added. This will allow you to update your fonts.dir files..
I place my extra fonts, like the artwiz fonts, etc. in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc .. Once copied there, you'll need to run " /usr/sbin/update-fonts-dir misc " command. This will use mkfontdir to update the fonts.dir file in the misc directory.
Then it is a simple matter to add the line " usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc" to your filetool.lst
Backup to your key, and when you restore, they will be ready-to-go..
