JoMamma, Make sure you've burned the contents of the .iso to the disc, not the actual .iso file. In other words, you want all the files contained in the .iso on the disk, instead of one damnsmall-x.x.x..iso file.
For example, in Nero, select (something like) "burn iso image to disc", select the .iso file in the file dialog, and hit Burn. Not sure about others, cause I've never used them. In Linux, "cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=x -pad -v -eject filename.iso" will "extract" the information from the .iso, and burn that to cd.
If you boot into windows, put in the cd, open Windows Explorer, browse to the cd drive, and all you see on the disc is "damnsmall-x.x.x.iso", then it's not going to work to boot from.
