I need to be able to write to my NTFS hard drives from DSL, but I can't get the filesystem to mount as read/write. I've tried using the desktop tools thing and mounting manually as root.

The problem is, that even with mount /dev/hda2 -w I get a read-only filesystem. How can I force it to be read/write?

Plain DSL does not mount NTFS read-write.  I assume this is because NTFS is constantly changing, is closed source, and is not entirely stable for writing from linux.
Apparently you can install captive ntfs in order to write, but i have no experience with that software to say how well it works or how easy it is to install to DSL

Damn... Looks like I'll have to convert one of my drives to FAT to do this then. :(

Thanks for the info, anyways.
