Okay, first problem....
When installing DSL onto my hard drive, I didn't have a mouse installed onto the computer and I actually just wanted to make sure I could get my OLD Packard Bell 75 Megahertz machine to take the distro and BOOT!  Which it did, nicely!  (Unlike RH9, which installed, but would never boot!)  Anyway, back to my problem...  During the install I went ahead and told DSL, I had a PS/2 style 2 Button mouse, but when I actually went to hook up a mouse I couldn't find my PS/2 style 2 button mouse, but did find an old 2 Button Serial mouse that I know works.  How do I change my mouse configuration?

Secondly...  How do I get SSH working?  Because when I'm finished setting this ALL up I'm going to remove the MOUSE, the Keyboard, and monitor and use Putty from my WinXP Professional Gaming box when I need to configure something in the DSL box.

Thanks again for all your help!

HI
The serial mouse is usually fairly simple.  After your system boots up, do the following.
CTRL-ALT-BKSP         That is control alt backspace all at once.  That kills the X server
then type

xsetup.sh                     That will bring up the setup utility.  Answer no to USB mouse and then no to
ps/2 mouse.  Then select the com port that the mouse is connected to.
                                    continue to the finish.

Then type

startx                              That will restart the X server with the new mouse settings.

Good luck

Thanks, for the tip.  Now to get my network configuration working.  The DSL install on the old Packard Bell claims I have eth0 and eth1.  However, I only have one network card.  A 3Com ISA Network card...  Guess I'll have to download drivers for it.  RH9 picks up automatically...  DSL must be a bit different.  LOL!  Anyway thanks again.

Still having problems with sshd.  Something about a key....  I'll post more information when I get the DSL Box on the net.  Thanks!

Hi
The problem your going to have is not getting the ssh server working ( control panel does that).  The problem is you need to either set a password for user dsl or add a new user so you can log on using an ssh client.  Do it manually then try to automate it.
good luck

Hmm.. the initial message you see when logging onto ssh is only to
let you know that the key is an unknown, and do you wish to proceed.

Once you are past that, the message should disappear at relogin.

Using your backup to save the .ssh under /home/dsl should carryover
to your rebooted environment..

Here is a thread discussing a similar issue with eth0/eth1
